JUST IN: Eko Electric Staff Electrocuted While Working in Ebute Metta

Tragedy struck in Lagos as a staff member of Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC), identified as Oluwole Orija, was electrocuted while carrying out maintenance work in the Ebute Metta area.


Eyewitnesses report that the incident occurred during a routine operation, though the exact circumstances leading to the fatal shock remain unclear. Emergency responders and concerned residents rushed to the scene, but efforts to save him were unsuccessful.


EKEDC has yet to release an official statement regarding the incident. However, sources indicate that an internal investigation may be launched to determine if safety protocols were properly followed.


This unfortunate event highlights the dangers faced by electricity workers who risk their lives daily to maintain power supply across the country.
