In a reported violation of Nigeria's constitutional presumption of innocence, former First Lady Patience Jonathan has allegedly detained 15 of her domestic staff at Bayelsa State's Okaka Correctional Centre since 2019 over an unproven robbery allegation.
Vice Reports gathers that these workers have been incarcerated without a court conviction, as their trial has been repeatedly delayed, purportedly due to the influence of the former First Lady.

They include Williams Alami, Vincent Olabiyi, Ebuka Cosmos, John Dashe, Tamunokuro Abaku, Emmanuel Aginwa, Erema Deborah, Precious Kingsley, Tamunosiki Achese, Sunday Reginald, Vivian Golden, and Emeka Benson.
